A statue of Satoshi Nakamotu, believed to be the inventor of Bitcoin, was erected in Hungary.
A statue was erected in Hungary in memory of Satoshi Nakamoto, believed to be the 'inventor' of the cryptocurrency Bitcoin. The statue, which was opened in a workplace near the Danube River in the capital Budapest, is estimated to be the first work made for the creators of Bitcoin.
The real identity of the founder of Bitcoin, known by the nickname Satoshi Nakamoto, is unknown. Satoshi's name is also inscribed on the stone below the bronze bust.
“We think Satoshi created the entire cryptocurrency industry. He created Bitcoin, he created the blockchain technology, he is the God of this market,” said Andras Gyorfi, the Bitcoin journalist who initiated the project.
He stated that they developed the Gyorfi sculpture project to honor the memory of Nakamoto and to raise awareness of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies.
Within the scope of the project, 10 thousand dollars were collected in cryptocurrency for the bust to be made. However, this money was converted into Hungarian forints, as the sculptors did not accept cryptocurrencies.
