The Albanian police announced that Fatih Özer, the founder of Thodex, who was wanted with a red notice, was caught in Vlora, Albania.
Albanian Interior Minister Bledar Çuçi also conveyed to Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu that Fatih Özer was caught and his identity was confirmed by biometric results.
In the statement made by the Ministry of Interior, "Thodex's founder, fugitive Fatih Özer, who was wanted with a red notice, was caught in Albania, the police started extradition procedures to Turkey."
Faruk Fatih Özer, owner of Thodex, known as Turkey's 'third largest cryptocurrency exchange', had closed the site and fled abroad on April 20, 2021.
About 400,000 investors were defrauded, ranging from $2 to $10 billion.
